President Obama's US Supreme Court Choice

Today, NOW-NYS joins women and progressive men across this country to celebrate President Obama's nomination of Judge Sonia Sototmayor to the US Supreme Court.
Judge Sotomayor, a New Yorker, will be the third woman and first Hispanic on the Supreme Court. Committed to equality, justice, and opportunity, Judge Sotomayor's distinguished career represents more experience than any Supreme Court appointment made in the past hundred years. Indeed, her conscientious record has won the respect of a great many colleagues and peers from both sides of the political aisle.
NOW-NYS calls upon the US Senate to make a swift confirmation. New York State activists will join National NOW to launch a "Confirm Her" campaign, urging rights activists around the country to call upon their US Senators to confirm this historic appointment of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court of the United States.
