Endorses Eliot Spitzer (D)

On behalf of over 40,000 supporters, NOW - NYS PAC is proud to endorse Eliot Spitzer as the candidate best suited to become New York's Governor. Indeed, Mr. Spitzer is rock solid on women's rights and has proven he will make decisions that better the lives of women and girls. With Spitzer in office, NOW (the largest women's rights organization in the US) will be most effective in our ongoing work to eliminate discrimination against women and girls.
In today's context of a conservative United States Supreme Court, it is imperative that our State steps forward, stronger than ever, to protect women's civil rights and reproductive autonomy. Spitzer is solidly pro-choice and, in addition, he is a strong proponent of lesbian/gay civil rights and same-sex marriage. Furthermore, Spitzer fully understands the complicated issues surrounding matrimonial law and child custody, and can help balance these areas toward more equity for women and children.
In summary, we of NOW - NYS PAC applaud Eliot Spitzer for his stance on the issues that many others avoid. It is our belief that he will be as fearless as Governor as he has been as Attorney General.
